Phew!

Phew!  It has been crazy round these parts.  Valentine's was a blast and Meghann and I actually got to eat at the place where our wedding reception will be and I must say that the food is awesome.  All of you who will be at the wedding are in for a treat.   I also must say that this is the first time that I have done something truly special for Valentine's.  I have always said what a bunch of baloney the holiday was, but it was actually kind of meaningful this year and i guess I "get" it now.

The Friday following Valentine's was crazy busy at work.  I worked a twelve hour day that was a day of highs and lows.  We have moved our warehouse from one end of town to another, and Friday was the day we moved the servers.  Our rack weighs over five hundred pounds and houses thousands of dollars worth of computers so when the the movers nearly knocked it off the dolly all the blood rushed out of my head, and I saw my life flash before my eyes.  But then we were back online in about three hours and everybody was in a good mood to finally have the move behind us.  The new place is great, much bigger and cleaner than our old dingy warehouse (I should know, I helped mop 24,000 sq. ft. before we moved in).

Saturday was a day of rest.

But then Sunday I went to Raleigh's own Lincoln Theater to see Yonder Mountain String Band play.  I saw them there exactly one year prior and instantly I was a fan.  I saw them twice over the summer so this was my fourth show, and boy, what a doozie.  They play with such high energy that the whole place was rocking.  The special guest was a violinist named Ann Marie Calhoun who was phenomenal.  Apparently she is a YouTube sensation and I can see why.  Her encore solo had the whole place jumping.  Really a great time.

And then there is tonight.  Life has returned to a more normal pace.  I am watching the election coverage on CNN and it is good to see Obama take another state.  If he takes Hawaii later tonight that will make ten in a row.  Pure Obamania I tell ya!!!  (Ok, sorry for that.)

Happy belated Valentine's Day, Jim. Sandy turns 16 in a couple of days. You and the girls may want to send a special b'day card. Just an idea. Go Obama!
