Power of Nightmares

I just watched part one of a three part series about the events leading up to the current world order.  It is a BBC documentary. I think it's worth a look.  Oddly enough, one man's twisted interpretation of Gun smoke, and Perry Mason, may have a lot to do with Bush's campaign of terror.

Okay. Now I have just watched part two of the series. I implore you to watch this. As Americans, the people who control their own fate, it is important to be knowledgeable about the forces that guide our lives. These films are about the dichotomy between the Neo-conservitive movements within our own country and the Islamic Jihad and how they play off one another. It is a story of delusion. These two groups create there own mythology then begin to believe it themselves. Please, watch the videos. I will post the third after I view it.

I guess the verdict is in. Terrorism is a very real threat, but the severity is exaggerated by our government and our media. Fear generates votes, and it generates ratings in our post 9/11 era. But in a twisted synergy between all the wrong parties, our perception of terrorism becomes unfounded and unhealthy towards our public policy both foreign and domestic. In my humble opinion the only thing we can do to fight this vicious cycle is to educate ourselves and approach the situation with an open mind. Kind of a hard thing to do with the amount of misinformation that is floating about.

Hey Jim,
Glad to see you're keeping up with the news. This Blog thing is a new way of networking ideas and fast and without media spin. However, it seems to me that this "filterless" news can be a bit of a pea soup in that there is so much out there it is hard to tell what has merit and what does not. Blog spin so to speak. It will be an interesting time, huh?
