Last night was a wonderful evening at the Koka Booth Amphitheater at Regency Park in Cary. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones headlined the show, with Umphrey's McGee and Marc Broussard as the supporting cast. Never heard of Marc Broussard before but he has a tremendously soulful voice and I'll be sure to check him out again. It was a great experience. The music never stopped as the bands switched positions fluidly. The encore was twenty minutes long at least and consisted of all three acts on the stage jamming away. Some highlights were
Little Wing by Jimmy Hendrix,
Come Together by the Beatles (with Marc Broussard on vocals with The Flecktones) and a
Who Knows? jam (another Hendrix tune) by Umphrey's.
